Schizopolis (Full Frame)
Fletcher Munson has a doppelg?nger in dentist Dr. Jeffrey Korchek. In his only starring performance to date, acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh inhabits both roles: Munson, onanistic corporate drone and speechwriter for New Age guru T. Azimuth Schwitters, and the swinging Korchek, Muzak enthusiast and lover to Munson's disenchanted wife. Meanwhile, mad exterminator and part-time celebrity prima donna Elmo Oxygen seduces local housewives in secret code and plots against Schwitters. Placing the onus squarely on the viewer ("If you don't understand this film, it's your fault and not ours"), writer/director/editor/cameraman Soderbergh presents a deranged comedy of confused identity, doublespeak, and white-knuckled corporate intrigue, confirming his status as one of America's most daring and unpredictable filmmakers. The Criterion Collection is proud to present "Schizopolis" for the first time on DVD.

Rollerball (Full Frame, Widescreen)
The year is 2018. There are no wars. There is no crime. There is only...the Game. In a world where ruthless corporations reign supreme, this vicious and barbaric "sport" is the only outlet for the pent-up anger and frustrations of the masses. Tuned to their televisions, the people watch "Rollerball": a brutal mutation of football, motocross and hockey. Jonathan E. (James Caan, "Misery") is the champion player - a man too talented for his own good. The Corporation has taken away the woman Jonathan loves (Maud Adams, "Octopussy") but they can't take away his soul - even if diabolical corporate head (John Houseman, "The Paper Chase") tells him he'd better retire...or suffer the old-fashioned way. With its surrealistic imagery and tense action sequences, "Rollerball" grips you by the heart - and never lets you go!
Feature-Length Audio Commentary By Director Norman Jewison, Featurette With Behind-The-Scenes Footage And Interviews With Jewison, New Dolby Digital 5.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
When free-spirited petty crook Randle P. McMurphy (Jack Nicholson) arrives at the state mental hospital, his contagious sense of disorder jolts the routine. He' on one side of a brewing war, soft-spoken, coolly monstrous Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher) on the other. At stake is the fate of every patient on the ward.
Seen here in a revitalized digital transfer from refurbished elements, this electrifying adaptation of Ken Kesey's acclaimed bestseller swept all five major 1975 Academy Awards: Best Picture (produced by Saul Zaentz and Michael Douglas), Actor (Nicholson), Actress (Fletcher), Director (Milos Forman) and Adapted Screenplay (Lawrence Hauben and Bo Goldman). Raucous, searing and with a superb cast that includes Brad Dourif, Danny DeVito and Christopher Lloyd in his film debut, it soars.

The Companion Guide to Paris by Anthony Glyn, ISBN 1900639203
Highly praised on its first appearance, this new edition of the Companion Guide to Paris, fully revised by Anthony Glyn's widow, preserves his vivid evocation of Paris - its foundation and history, ancient churches, wide boulevards and narrow streets, architecture, and philosophy - while bringing the book up to date. Special attention is paid to the completed Grand Louvre with its Pyramid, the d'Orsay and Picasso Museums and the refurbished Centre Pompidou; the changes to the Eiffel Tower and the Panthon; and the restoration of the footpaths along the Seine. Informed and amusing, the book captures the changing moods of this fascinating city.
